About Us

Writing for kids is a little like having the chicken pox. It's an itch you have to scratch, but when you do--watch out! It can sure be painful. The writing is pure joy. Even the revising and editing is rewarding, surprising, and often delightful. But the road to publication? I'd rather have the chicken pox.

As Marissa and I make this journey together, we hope to share the information, joys, and sorrows with other writers and readers. Hopefully, we can make someone else's journey easier.

Marissa Graff teaches kids all day and then comes home to write about what they teach her.... She's writing picture books and reading lots of middle grade and young adult for inspiration. She lives in Virginia with a husband who deserves to be the hero in a novel.

Martina Boone loves reading and writing books about beautiful, viscious, magical worlds that intersect our own, and about the monsters of myth and folklore that sometimes show more humanity than we do. She lives in Virginia with a husband, two kids, two cats, a fish and Auggie, a therapy dog who is convinced it's his job to make the world a better place. She's a copywriter and non-fiction editor of business and web-based material by day, with stories for children published in a number of magazines.

Clara Kensie is an aspiring author of Young Adult novels. Her stories feature quietly strong heroines, drool-worthy heroes, twists and turns, and sometimes, a psychic killer or two (or seven, but who’s counting?). You can catch her on her website, http://www.clarakensie.com/, or on Twitter (http://twitter.com/ClaraKensie). Look for her tweets via @4KidLit as she helps Martina and Marissa choose the best of the best blog posts each week for the Friday round-up.

Lisa Gail Green writes all things paranormal and young adult. She has published numerous short stories and poems, including CURSED in the recent anthology PLAYTHINGS OF THE GODS available from Drollerie Press, and IDENTITY CRISIS, which will debut in the anthology GODS OF JUSTICE from Cliffhanger Books this summer. Catch her on her blog, Paranormal Point of View (http://paranormalpointofview.blogspot.com/), or on Twitter (http://twitter.com/LisaGailGreen). She's also a contributor on The Enchanted Inkpot.
